Construction of Imperial Wharf Marina on the river Thames has commenced
with the installation of piles for the bankseat. The main contractor is
Walcon with the piles being installed by their subcontractor Red 7
Marine who are using their spud leg crane barge Haven Seavoyager.
Complicating the commencement on site was the presence of Fugro's site
investigation jack up rig; Fugro were drilling a borehole for Thames Water's Thames Tunnel sewer overflow diversion tunnel project. Imperial
Wharf marina will, once complete, provide more than 630m of berthing
space for a range of leisure vessels up to the size of Dutch canal barges.
