Beckett Rankine have been commissioned to prepare a 20 year masterplan for the development of a marine supply base in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. Despite past security problems in the Delta the situation is improving with an amnesty declared and the new Petroleum Bill which ought to resolve many of the local grievances; this improvement is expected to enable oil production to increase. Oil exploration in the region is now principally in deep water and the oil companies require efficient high quality shore bases to support their offshore work.
